First Focus

 The fellowship of the Believers:
They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."
Acts 2:42-47

First Focus Young Adult Ministry

First Focus is a gathering place for young adults in their 20's & 30's. Our vision is to be transformed into the image of Jesus Christ, and to be tools for transformation in our community and world.

How do I meet people and get started?
First Sunday Reception: The first Sunday of the month we gather for a luncheon after the 11:00 a.m. service for a time of fellowship and catching up. This is a place to meet other young adults and hear about what’s going on in the ministry. On a quarterly basis we’ll discuss an issue that is relevant to our stage in life.

What do you all do?
Fellowship is just another way of saying “hanging out.” On the third Friday of each month we’ll gather at either a local coffee shop or restaurant to take in some of the local and diverse cuisine. We also will schedule alternative activities on other evenings that include events ranging from progressive dinners to karaoke.

  • Sports: We also have open gym Volleyball and Basketball nights on Tuesdays throughout the month at 7:00 p.m. Contact Scott to find out more information.
  • Annual Retreat: Each year we have a weekend Retreat to get away and spend quality time with each other and dive into God’s word and a subject more depth.
  • Mission: Over the past year, First Focus has raised awareness about the need for clean drinking water and the impact of AIDS through supporting Blood:Water Mission. We are currently investigating a potential local mission opportunity to partner with.

What’s the Best Way to Know What’s Going On?
Each week we send out an e-news letter we call The Focus. It’s the best way to know what’s happening in First Focus. You can register for this email by sending an email to
George. For safety, this email is sent to all members blind copied so that no one else will receive your address.

What’s the Best Way to Stay Connected?
First Pres believes the best way to follow Jesus is within community. We strongly encourage you to join a Community Group. Community Groups are small groups that are neighborhood based, and diverse in life stage and culture. While First Focus is your connecting place with other young adults, Community Groups keep you connected to the church. You can register for a Community Groups by contacting
Melody at ext. 218.
