L'Eglise de Dieu de la Pentecote de Simon - Haiti

First Presbyterian Church began a relationship with L’Eglise de la Pentecote de Simon in 1997 which it has continued to foster with regular mission trips that include renovation, teaching, worshipping, and mentoring. Located in western, rural Haiti, Simon is a small, poor village blessed with members who are rich in faith. This church is one of the most visible and prominent, built on top of the highest hill. The congregation of several hundred serve much of the community by building relationships with area churches across denominational lines and by praying regularly for Christian revival throughout Haiti. The church’s elementary school, attended by 125 students, is funded by church donations and minimal tuition (approximately $25 yearly per child). Beginning in 2002, First Presbyterian Church and Heart of God Ministries have provided scholarships to enable more children from the community to attend the school.
