First Presbyterian Church - Evanston: Who We Are


Who We Are We are a reformed evangelical church with a high view of the authority of the Bible and that each person is called to a personal faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. The Apostle’s and Nicene Creeds represent the particulars. Our Mission Statement Our Affiliations: We are a member of the Presbyterian Church (USA) under the Chicago Presbytery. We are a member of the Willow Creek Association (WCA), allowing us to utilize their training conferences and resource materials. First Church of God is an African American church in Evanston with whom we have a special relationship. Interfaith Action of Evanston Our Church Governance: Leadership consists of the Session, Trustees, and Deacons. Session is responsible for the spiritual growth of the congregation and oversight of all Ministry Councils. Trustees are responsible for all the property of the church and its finances. Deacons carry out acts of service both inside the congregation as well as to the community at large.
