All God's Children

When: 3rd Sunday Each Month
Where: Rm 213

All God's Children a bible study and disability support group, joins "Marriage and the Family" every 3rd Sunday of each month at 9:30 am.

Do you know that twenty-five out of the thirty-four miracles recorded in the Gospels are with people with disabilities? Jesus' friendship with people with disabilities serves as a model for us. The Bible study/support group for disability offerred to all (disabled and nondisabled) the third Sunday of each month at 9:15 am (church dining room) is a wonderful example of fellowship in action. It is a place to bridge the distance between ourselves and others in the body of Christ with disabilities. It is a place where we are honest in sharing the struggles of our lives, where we come together to study God's word knowing Jesus gives us hope and shares in our sufferings. We encourage and uphold one another in mutual prayer.

Would you consider joining us? To befriend a person with a disability by identifying with them is to love them with the compassion of Christ. Being present with families who are struggling says to them that they are of worth to us. We esteem them highly enough to know about their lives and to consider their needs important. Jesus identified with those who were disabled. As we are conformed to his image we have the privilege to imitate our Savior in reaching out to others in the church who need our friendship but whose friendship we also need to fulfill God's plan for our lives. "...those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable...but God has combined the members of the body and has given greater honor to the parts that lacked it, so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it" I Corinthians 12.

Living in a family with disability has taught me a lot about God, his mercy, his sovereignty, the power of the Holy Spirit to renew, transform, and sustain as well as given me an understanding of the fellowship of sharing in Christ's sufferings. I invite you to visit or join our class and fellowship together.
