Title: The Discipline of Study

Big Idea: We are what we study and take in. Thomas Cranmer famously said: “What the heart loves, the will chooses, and the mind justifies. The mind doesn’t direct the will. The mind is actually captive to what the will wants, and the will itself, in turn, is captive to what the heart wants.”

Our new teaching series:
Soul Sculpting: Disciplines that shape the follower of Jesus (Shaped like Jesus)
No one ever drifts into spiritual growth, vibrancy and love for God. The Psalmist yearned for the will to meditate on God’s precepts; to fix his eyes on God’s ways (Psalm 119:15). God rewards such intentionality by reshaping the contours of the human soul with more love and desire for Him. This series will reflect on three inner disciplines of Study, Rest and Gratitude, and one outer discipline: Worship. We will remind ourselves that small things done faithfully will, over time, change us.
