Seniors are a vital part of our church and are active in leadership and in many ministries, particularly day time Bible studies. Here is some helpful information and also some ministry opportunities that our many of our seniors have found engaging and rewarding.

Transportation for Sunday Worship
With prior reservation, our friendly church bus drivers will pick up local attendees who do not drive.

Senior Varsity Programs –  First Thursdays, Registration 10:30 a.m.  Program begins at 11:00 a.m.
Join us for a luncheon and speaker program for seniors. The program is followed by lunch (Cost: $5) Please contact our reception desk for reservations for lunch and, if you are local, and need a ride on our church bus.

Communion at Home
Our Deacons bring Communion (The Lord’s Supper) to those members, past attendees and friends who are not able to attend worship services when communion is served. Contact our church office if you wish to receive communnion at home.

Book Club  –  Third Tuesdays, 1:00p.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Join us to discuss a book every other month.  All ages are welcome, but many seniors appreciate that the day time meeting accomodomates their needs and schedules.  Meetings will take place in the Parlor.

Knitting Ministry –  First Fridays & Third Saturdays,  Noon – 2:00 p.m.
We knit prayer shawls or scarves or whatever you like for those in need at our church and elsewhere. All levels of experience are welcome, even those who have never knit before. Bring a project or start one with us. Projects change as we become more aware of needs such as scarves for those in the Warming Center, children’s sweaters that are distributed by World Vision, and crocheted necklaces for the Congo education project. We welcome anyone interested in our projects to join us when we meet at the church or to knit independently for our projects. We are able to supply yarn and needles, great fellowship with prayer time and treats.  All gatherings are at the church in Room 206. Feel free to bring a sack lunch.
