This group meets the 2nd Monday of each month to pray in depth for our mission partners, and mission concerns at First Pres. When we see so much need in the world, it can often be overwhelming and we are left not knowing where to begin. Through the prayer meetings and these online resources, we hope to encourage one another in faithful prayer for God's kingdom.

Monthly Prayer Request: For the month of October we are praying for the International Fellowship of Evangelical Students (IFES). Our mission partners who are affiliated with IFES include: Dave and Sally Ivaska, Femi Adeleye, Gideon Para-Mallam and other partners in the Middle East and North Africa. Members of our church were recently able to visit IFES partners in Ghana (GHAFES), and have shared some of the needs that they saw while working with these partners.

Prayer points include:

1. Pray for Femi Adeleye (IFES Associate Regional Secretary) as he coordinates the IFES delegates who will attend InterVarsity's Urbana Missions Convention in December. Most of them will be coming to learn how to plan for and direct similar conferences in their own countries and regions.

2. Pray for Affy Adeleye as she mobilizes IFES staff in the English and Portuguese-speaking countries of Africa to address the AIDS issue with their students.

3. Pray for the Ghana Fellowship of Evangelical Students (GHAFES) as they transition leadership to a new General Secretary and work on a new strategic plan.

4. Pray for all IFES national movements that they will continue having the staff, funding and resources needed to continue their mission of discipling students to become the next generation of leaders with Christian values.
