Plan to come celebrate a very special weekend at First Presbyterian Church of Evanston! This weekend of July 2018 will mark exactly 150 years since our church was founded in 1868. The 150th Celebration Committee has been hard at work planning this event since November 2015.
150 years of god’s grace
Friday, July 27 at 7 pm – The Concert
We will be showcasing our very own musicians and giving this concert as a gift to the Evanston community. It will be organized and directed by our Director of Worship and Choir Director, and will include both the Chancel Choir and the Praise Band as well as other outstanding musicians in our midst.
Saturday, July 28 at 6 pm – The Dinner
We have reserved the lovely 10th floor ballroom of the DoubleTree Hotel in Skokie for the evening. The festivities will include a reception, a dinner, and special speakers. Philip Yancey, noted author and speaker, will be the keynote speaker. We will also present a new history booklet which will look especially at the past 25 years. All of FPCE is invited to the upcoming 150th Anniversary Dinner on Saturday, July 28 at 6 pm at the DoubleTree Hotel in Skokie. Noted author and speaker Philip Yancey joins us for this festive evening celebrating 150 years of God’s Grace. Tickets are $65 and a limited amount of scholarships are available. Sunday, July 29 at 10 am – The Worship Service
This will be a very special worship service in which we will be praising and thanking God for all He has done for us during the 150 years of our church’s life. We are so grateful for all He has done and for all the grace he has given during that time.
Sunday Brunch – There will be a brunch open to everyone following the service on July 29th. We will hear from some of our special guests that will have come from around the world to celebrate with us. No sign-up necessary!
