Seasonal/Special Events

Sunday School Kick-off Dinner: Held annually in early September, the Annual Sunday School Kick-off is a time for all families with kids up to 12 years old to come share pizza, salad and ice cream with other families and visit the Sunday School classrooms. Also featured will be a short group discussion for parents about family devotions (while kids have play time). Please indicate ahead of time if childcare is needed for infants and toddlers.

Advent Workshop: Join us on the first Sunday afternoon of Advent for fellowship, worship and crafts for the whole family. You are invited for festive snacks in the dining room, a special program in the parlor and a Christmas craft in the gym. Please bring a festive finger food snack to share (e.g. cheese/crackers, veggies and dip, small pieces of fruit, cookies). Childcare is available for infants and toddlers, if requested in advance.

Communion Workshop: The Communion Workshop is held each winter for parents and children who want to explore the meaning of communion. This workshop is designed for grade school children who will be participating in communion for the first time. The workshop is held prior to the February communion service. Information on communion is not covered in the Sunday School curriculum because we believe it is the parents' responsibility to determine when your child is ready to receive communion. Information about this workshop is sent to each Sunday School family in January, with guidelines to help gauge your child's readiness.

Good Friday Workshop: The Good Friday Workshop is held each year on Good Friday morning, 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. and includes fellowship, kid-friendly worship, and crafts for the whole family. Join us to reflect on the meaning of Easter. Each family is asked to bring a finger food to share (e.g., cheese and crackers, veggies and dip, small pieces of fruit, etc). Childcare is available, if reserved in advanced.

2nd Grade Bible Presentation and Celebration: Bibles are presented in early Spring during the 9:15 a.m. worship service to each 2nd grader who is registered for Sunday School. A celebration for the 2nd graders and their families immediately follows the worship service.
